Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs

I finished up Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs this morning. Not a bad game. I didn't use a guide to keep track of all the collectibles. I did end up needing one to do the mop up though. Several are tucked away and tough to find. Their were two that you can't get unless you have a fully upgraded heat weapon.
It was an easy game and I got the full 1,000 gamerscore and beat my goal. I'll probably play another game tonight but at this point I'm at 23,120.
My goal was to hit 23,000 by the end of the year and I did it. I added almost 14,000 to my gamerscore in two months. Tomorrow I start working on my goal to reach 100,000 gamerscore by the end of the year.
I love video games and one of my other goals for 2012 is to play at least two video games each week that are not XBOX 360 or gamerscore related. My progress for that can be found over at Two Games A Week.
Finding time to play video games has always been a challenge for me. Work, family and life in general means gaming has been a minor hobby for me. I'm putting other hobbies and activities aside and focusing all my attention on video games for an entire year. I'm excited to get things started. It should be a fun year of gaming.

Captain America

Spent yesterday and most of today playing Fable II. I'm really enjoying this game. I played through the story quite a while ago and thought I was done. That is not even close to accurate. Now that I'm trying to get the achievements, I realize that there is so much more to this game. To get achievements, you end up exploring and doing things you would never think of doing. I have many more enjoyable hours to go and then there is Fable III to pop back in.
I beat my goal of 1,600 last week by hitting 1,780. That took me to 21,685. I'm off to a slow start this week with just 225 gamerscore completed. My goal for the week is 1,500, but to reach 23,000 I only need 1,090. I want to start the year at 23,000. Then I push to 100,000 by the end of 2012.
I'm waiting on a game from GameFly, so I started Captain America to try and rack up some points today. Not a bad game. Lots of collectibles though. Once you clear a room, you feel compelled to run around the area and look for collectibles. It would be better if you could just play the game and enjoy the story.

CSI: Hard Evidence

Everything you here about this game is right on the money. I played through the first mission tonight. I have no idea who would consider this game entertaining in any way. It's awful. I'll work on this one for the next couple of days. I skipped the training, so it took me a bit to figure out how to play. Easy once you get the hang of it.
Another game I'm dreading each night is Ben 10:Cosmic Destruction. I hope to have most of this one finished by the weekend. There will definitely be some clean-up needed. I found all the collectables, but at the end of a couple levels I found out they did not register. I must have died and lost the save? Not sure. An excellent guide for this game can be found here.
I'm at 820 gamerscore for the week. I have another 780 to hit my goal. It shouldn't be a problem. I'd actually like to keep my 2K streak going for a while. We'll see.

Rango Revisited

I changed my mind this morning. I decided to give Rango one last try. I figured out why my collectible achievement didn't pop. I also needed to get all the upgrades (not just the collectibles). Once I did that, I got the 125 point achievement. I also found a great video that showed the best way to get the 200,000 sheriffs coins. Completed!
Thanks Sharksfan24. Here is the video I mentioned. Works great.

Rango

There is no way that I'm grinding out more achievements in this game. It was fun....the first play through...but I went back and finished all the collecting and for some reason the achievement will not pop. I got 800 gamerscore. That's good enough for me. Time to move on.
As I close out the week, I earned 2,185 gamerscore, my 4th week with over 2,000. My goal was to hit 20,000 by the end of the year. I'll do that by the end of the day tomorrow.
I picked up a few games this past week to include a copy of Avatar. That is an instant 1K whenever I chose to play it.
I have CSI: Hard Evidence on it's way from Game Fly. I've heard it is a boring game, but an easy 1K. I still need to work at War In The North. All is well!

Rango

At this rate, I'll hit 20,000 gamerscore this week (instead of by year end). I started Rango yesterday. I'm not sure if I'll get the full 1K but I will get my 75% completion or more.
I'm also trying to complete Uno and I just started playing Age of Empires Online.
My longest score streak on 360voice.com is 14 days and if I get some gamerscore tomorrow, I break that record. I also picked up several games that will allow me to add to my gamerscore quickly.
Well on way to 20K and 25K will be in my sights. I' sure getting to 100K will get tougher by the time I reach 100k but at this point I still have games like Avatar to play...

Night at the Museum 2

Just completed Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian for 1,000 gamerscore. It took a few hours because I missed a couple of achievements on the first play through. I never watched the movies but the game was fun. I might go ahead and rent the movie. I like Ben Stiller and now that I've played the game, I'll probably be able to recognize the key scenes I played through.
My goal is to reach 20,000 gamerscore by the end of the year. I'm sitting at 18,940 already, so I don't think that will be a problem.
I have War in the North to play for the rest of this week which will take more time and yield less achievements. I'm okay with that as long as I have my goal for the week. My goal was 1,150 gamerscore. I already have 1,220!
I have 3 weeks with over 2K, so I may try to keep that streak going. We'll see.

Lost: Via Domus

I just broke 18,000 with a few clean-up achievements in Lost. I missed one of the pictures for "mapping the Island" achievement during my first play-through and I had to run through episode four a second time. If you play this game, take your time and make sure you get the pictures.
I also finished up The Maw and the three deleted scenes for a total of 250 gamerscore. It was a fun little game. I had to play through the last level twice. If you play this one, make sure Maw eats all the downed soldiers.
I've enjoyed playing War In The North. This one is going to take a while to finish though. I'm hoping most of the achievements are story related. I don't think I'll play this more than once. I'm playing it on normal, so I won't be getting all 1,000.
I have a couple of easy games coming this week, so my goal of 1,150 should be pretty easy to hit.

War In The North

I've come to the conclusion that driving games are not my favorite games, especially when it comes to Achievements. One of my new rules is to attempt to get at least 75% completion on any games I play. I did a bit of grinding on Cars 2, hoping to get to 75%, but in the end I was only able to hit 74%. I was comfortable with putting the game back in its case and exchanging it for Lord of the Rings War In the North. I know I'm already playing an RPG (Fables 2), but I've heard good things about this game.
I have a couple of games coming from GameFly that I can use to help my Gamerscore.
With Maw, Cars 2 and Fable, I've earned 2,020 gamerscore so far this week.Well above my 1,150 goal. Closing in on 20K.

Gamerscore Update

Not a bad night of gaming. I completed Megamind which was much easier than I thought it would be. I also played a few levels of The Maw. A fun night of gaming and I have 1K in gamerscore and several achievements added in just a couple of days. I'll pick up another game tomorrow, play some more MAW and may actually have another big week. My biggest week was 2,870. I may make a run at a new record. We'll see.

Megamind

I'm shooting for at least 1,150 gamerscore this week.

I rented Megamind hoping that it would be an easy 1K. About halfway through the game now and it was a good choice.

This morning I bought an arcade game called The Maw. I finished the first two levels. Great game so far. Should be an easy 200 gamerscore as well as a fun game to play.

Any spare time I have will be spent playing Fables II. This would be one of the games that I popped in long ago and never actually played through. I enjoyed Fables III (another game I need to play through for more achievements) and decided to play through Fables II first. Great game! I'm going for the full 1K, so this one will take me a while.

Here is the trailer for The Maw.

The Game Within a Game

I own multiple systems and have a collection of games that spans the history of video gaming (not a lot, just a variety). An XBox360 did not enter my life until late 2009. In 2009, my Gamerscore went from 0 to 595. I discovered the joy of Achievements, Googled Achievements and discovered 360Voice.com
I was briefly hooked on Achievements and ran my gamerscore up to 5,290 by the end of October. The gamerscore bug did not stick. My gamerscore crawled it's way to 9,600 in late October of this year. More than two years since my XBOX360 purchase.
Two things happened this year.
1. I rediscovered the feeling I get when I here an Achievement pop.
2. I was closing in on a milestone. 10,000 Gamerscore.

I made a quick run at the milestone and reached 10,000 on November 9th. On December 3rd I hit a new gamerscore milestone.....15,000!

My gamerscore goal at the moment is to reach 20,000 by the end of the year and as I head into 2012, I want to go back and clean up some achievements on some of the games I've played. I think I may be able to make a run at 100K by the end of 2012.
